President Joseph F. Smith, as a child, attended a meeting held by the Prophet Joseph Smith in a grove in Nauvoo. When a rainstorm began, the congregation preferred to remain in the rain rather than seek shelter, so captivated were they by the Prophet's discourse.
In Their Own Words
“I remember attending a meeting held in a grove in Nauvoo when a rain storm came up, and although the downpour was considerable, not a soul left the grove to seek shelter, but preferred to remain and listen. I know as I know that I am living, that he was a Prophet of God. — Millennial Star 72:35”
