Brother Beck, a soldier member in the Frieberg branch, was ordained an Elder by James L. McMurrin and President Schulthess as a reward for his faithful services and to enable him to administer to the sick.
In Their Own Words
“You will remember Brother Beck, one of the soldiers referred to. He was ordained a Priest when you were in Dresden. He has stood nobly and worked faithfully, being the mainstay of the branch at Frieberg, so we thought him fully deserving and that it would be wise and just to ordain him an Elder. There was no Elder in the branch, no one to administer to the sick, so we promoted him as a reward for faithful services. — Millennial Star 63:16”
