An unnamed Hawaiian fisherman, unable to catch fish due to high, dangerous breakers, prayed for assistance. Shortly after, a large fish was cast at his feet by the waves, providing him with food.
In Their Own Words
“There was a humble native fisherman, who lived on the windward side of Maui, one of the Hawaiian islands... when the breakers run so high that fishing has to be abandoned, and it would be foolish to make any attempts to make a catch with hook and line. He was hungry and it was a season of scarcity of fish; and while they were filled, he prayed for a surety the Lord would hear and answer the prayer of his servant. He walked along the shore, and while he was walking, a wave came in, and just as it was receding, it left at the feet of the bystanders one of the nicest, largest fish... sure enough, was a large fish. — Millennial Star 58:46”
