In Nauvoo, Philo Dibble had seen his own grave in vision for two weeks, unable to escape the impression whether his eyes were open or shut. Joseph Smith came to dinner and told him: 'Philo, you must get away from here or you will die, as sure as God ever spoke by my mouth!' Joseph later revealed the divine source: 'The Lord told me to go and tell Philo to come away from there, and if he obeyed he should live; if not, he should die.' Joseph added that had Philo remained fourteen more days, he would have been a corpse. The prophecy was precisely fulfilled — Philo moved and survived, while those who stayed in that location on the riverbank suffered the fate predicted.
