J. Strohl's Report of Supernatural Signs Near Jaffa

While traveling in the vicinity of Jaffa, Palestine, many residents reported seeing extraordinary signs in the sky, specifically soldiers and horsemen performing maneuvers while flying slowly in a southwesterly direction. While the author, J. Strohl, did not personally witness the manifestation, he recorded the testimony of many locals who maintained they saw the wonders.

Fuller account of this event (in the witness’s own words):

Not far from Jaffa wonderful signs were seen one afternoon by many people. Soldiers and horsemen were seen flying slowly in a southwesterly direction. I saw nothing of it, but many people maintain that they saw the wonders. The appearance was seen by many, and they describe it as being very distinct. It is said that the soldiers and horses were seen in the air, and that they were performing maneuvers. The people were very much excited over the matter, and many of them thought it was a sign of some great event that was about to take place.
