While serving a mission on the Sandwich Islands, Elder Hiram Clarke was blessed by the Lord and witnessed the power of God following his administration of the ordinances. He specifically notes administering to several natives who were restored to health, fulfilling a blessing given to him by Joseph Smith in Kirtland that he would serve on distant islands and the power of God would be with him.
In Their Own Words
“I have blessed since I have been here by the Lord, and the signs have followed my administration. I have administered to several of the natives, who have been restored; this is in accordance with the blessing given me by Father Joseph Smith in Kirtland; he told me that I should be upon distant islands of the sea, and the power of God should be with me in administering the ordinances. — Millennial Star 13:20”
