Henry William Miller — Providential Preservation in the Cotton Mission
Published August 30, 2026 at 11:48 PM
Henry William Miller, father of Albert E. Miller, was called to the Cotton Mission and served as a key leader. During times of extreme scarcity, he was noted for his ability to organize resources and maintain the faith of the settlers. His survival through the 'Starving Time' of the early 1860s, where food was almost non-existent, was attributed to divine preservation of the colony's leaders to ensure the mission's success.
