A woman who was possessed of the devil and was afflicted with dumbness was healed when four elders laid their hands upon her and cast the devil out in the name of Jesus Christ. She was immediately restored, gave thanks to God, and went on her way rejoicing.
Fuller account of this event (in the witness’s own words):
I arrived at the house of William Ky, in the township of Bastard, Leeds county, Upper Canada. I found a woman there who was possessed of the devil, and was greatly afflicted, and much of the time was dumb. She had been in this situation for some time. Four of us laid hands upon her, and cast the devil out in the name of Jesus Christ, and she was made whole, and gave thanks unto God, and went on her way rejoicing.
