Harry Wright was crushed in a coal mine accident on July 17, 1908, suffering a broken collar bone and two broken ribs. Two days later, he developed pneumonia and was considered a hopeless case by doctors. At his mother and sister's request, Elders Charles D. Brown and Clement L. Rawlins administered to him. Harry reported feeling a 'brighter look' in his eyes and feeling 'a lot better' upon their arrival. Following the administration, he recovered quickly, was walking about in a few days, and was discharged from the hospital after only eighteen days.

In Their Own Words

“On July 17th, 1908, I met with an accident down in a coal mine, by being crushed between the tubs. I was conveyed to the Nuneaton hospital, where it was found that my collar bone and two of my ribs were broken. After two days pneumonia set in, and I lay in a very critical condition; in fact, I was given up as a hopeless case. My wife, parents and sisters were sent for, as there were no hopes of my recovery. When the Elders arrived I felt a brighter look in my eyes, and I felt a lot better. My sister wrote to Elders Charles D. Brown and Clement L. Rawlins to come at once, which they did. They anointed me with oil and laid hands on my head and in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ asked that I might get better and be restored to health again. To the astonishment of my friends and relatives I was up and walking about in a few days and was soon out again. I was in the hospital eighteen days only.”
