Gework Donabetian of Alexandretta, Syria, fasted and prayed for eleven days and nights for a manifestation from heaven. He dreamed that four of the first Apostles appeared to him and told him that a preacher would be sent to him to instruct him. Elder Mischa Markow subsequently met him, taught him, and baptized him.
In Their Own Words
“This brother, whose name is Gework Donabetian, then told me of his experience before meeting me. He said that he had fasted for eleven days and nights, and prayed to God that he might receive some manifestation from heaven. One night he had dreamed that four of the first Apostles came to him and told him that a preacher would be sent to him who would tell him what to do. I was that preacher, he declared. He had been looking for me for some time, and when I arrived in Alexandretta he recognized me as the man he had seen in his dream. He was baptized, and he has remained faithful to the truth ever since.”
