Before meeting her husband, Victor Prescott Cram, Esther experienced a distinct spiritual manifestation or dream regarding the man she was destined to marry. When Victor Cram, a recent convert from Maine, arrived in the settlement of Spring Lake, Utah, Esther immediately recognized him as the individual she had seen in her spiritual vision. This divine guidance led to their courtship and eventual marriage in the St. George Temple on April 10, 1879.

Recording note: This account is preserved in 'A Short Life Sketch of Esther Almeria Johnson Cram,' written by her daughter Lulu Cram Allred and held in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers History Collection (Pioneer Pathways, vol. 2). Esther Almeria Johnson (1859–1946) was a young woman in Spring Lake, Utah, when she recognized recent convert Victor Prescott Cram as the man she had seen in her dream; they married in the St. George Temple in 1879. The DUP sketch is not available online, so no verbatim first-person excerpt is included here.
