While serving in the London Conference, Ephraim H. Nye was able to baptize twenty-five of his own relatives, which he describes as the literal fulfillment of a prophecy given to him by Apostle F. D. Richards on April 10, 1882, when he was set apart for his mission. Richards had promised that Nye would rejoice in bringing his kindred and friends to a knowledge of the truth.

In Their Own Words

“One of the most pleasing features of all this work of the coming and baptism of my relatives, is the fact that it is the literal fulfillment of prophecy recorded on the 10th of April, 1882, in the Council House, Salt Lake City, by Apostle F. D. Richards, When setting me apart for this mission, he said: ‘You shall rejoice in bringing your kindred and friends and many souls to a knowledge of the truth.’ I am grateful indeed, and my heart overflows with thanksgiving and praise to the God of heaven that He has wrought so wonderfully with me, and permitted me to see the fulfillment of this and many other promises given to me upon that occasion. — Millennial Star 46:25”
