Elder R. N. Russel testified at the District Conference in Manchester that he had realized the fulfillment of many promises made to him by the servants of God at the time he was set apart for his missionary service.

Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 28, No. 17, April 28, 1866, p. 269):

Elder R. N. Russel bore testimony to the truth of the work, and said he had realized the fulfillment of many promises made to him by the servants of God at the time he was set apart for his missionary service.

In Their Own Words

“That he had realized the fulfilment of many of the promises made to him by the servants of God, when he was set apart for this mission, that he desired to live humbly before God, and that his constant prayer was, that Israel might be saved, Zion redeemed, and God’s kingdom firmly established on the earth. — Millennial Star 28:17”
