While Elder James C. Frost was traveling from Norway to Copenhagen, the steamer he was on collided with another large ship. The collision caused a hole in the vessel, but it was repaired quickly enough to continue the journey safely.
Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 57, No. 8, 21 February 1895, p. 123):
Elder James C. Frost, writing from Copenhagen, Denmark, under date of February 1, 1895, says: 'On my way from Norway to this place, the steamer on which I was traveling collided with another large ship. The collision was a very severe one, and a large hole was made in the side of our vessel, but through the mercy of the Lord we were preserved from harm, and the damage was repaired in time for us to continue our journey in safety.'
