Before an outdoor meeting in Middleton, Elder B. R. Birchall and Elder Argyle prayed for the spirit of peace. In answer to their prayer, they experienced an orderly and successful meeting with a crowd of 500 people, where the atmosphere felt as if they were assembled in the Salt Lake City Tabernacle.
Fuller account of this event (in the witness’s own words):
Previous to our out-door meeting we had assembled together and prayed that God would bless us with the spirit of peace, and in answer to those prayers we had the utmost order, good preaching, good singing (thanks to the sisters who accompanied us) and everything was as though we were assembled in our great Tabernacle in Salt Lake City. We had a crowd of about five hundred people, who listened with marked attention to the remarks of Elder Argyle and myself.
In Their Own Words
“Previous to our out-door meeting we had assembled together and prayed that God would bless us with the spirit of peace, and in answer to those prayers we had the utmost order, good preaching, good singing (thanks to the sisters who accompanied us) and everything was as though we were assembled in our great Tabernacle in Salt Lake City. — Millennial Star 62:30”
