The morning of the camp meeting held on August 26, 1877, on Clapham Common was lowering and threatened rain, but due to the faith and prayers of the Saints, the weather became beautiful, and the spirit of peace was felt by those gathered.
Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 39, No. 38, 17 September 1877, p. 603):
The morning was lowering and threatened rain, but through the faith and prayers of the Saints, the weather became beautiful, and the spirit of peace was felt by those gathered.
In Their Own Words
“The morning opened lowering, threatening a wet and miserable day, yet at the time of meeting more beautiful weather could not have been desired, the faith and prayers of the Saints had been answered, indeed the spirit of peace seemed poured out upon the elements and upon the hearts of the people, and a time of rejoicing was enjoyed by the Saints of London. — Millennial Star 39:38”
