After being driven from Nauvoo in September 1846, the Saints were camped in Iowa, destitute and suffering from starvation. In His kindness, God sent flocks of quails into their camps, which were so tame the women were able to catch them with their hands to feed the starving people.
In Their Own Words
“Here many must have perished from starvation — not the Creator fed them by sending upon their camps flocks of quails so tame that the women caught them with their hands. — Millennial Star 31:2”
