Divine Judgment upon an Opponent of the Gospel in Mansfield

While missionaries were preaching in the Mansfield market place, an individual opposed the doctrine, claiming it was false and stating he would expose it on a following Friday evening. On that morning, he fell from an upper room and was severely injured. Brother Lacy sent word to him that his injury was a consequence of fighting the work of God, and the man subsequently ceased his opposition.

In Mansfield, a man who had been very bitter against the truth, and who had publicly declared that he would expose 'Mormonism' on a certain Friday evening, fell from an upper room on the morning of that day, and was so severely injured that he was unable to carry out his threat. Brother Lacy sent word to him that his accident was a judgment of God upon him for fighting against the truth, and the man subsequently ceased his opposition.
