Dimick Huntington's Baptism of Lamanites and the Indian Prophet's Prediction

Dimick Huntington writes to Joseph F. Smith describing the rapid increase in the baptism of Lamanites. He specifically mentions an Indian man who had been baptized nineteen years prior in Salmon River. After this man was confirmed and ordained, he prophesied that while Huntington had been baptizing forty-four people in one day, in the future, Huntington would be required to baptize from morning until evening, a state that would continue for years as tribes came to be baptized.

Last Sunday we re-baptized an Indian that was baptized nineteen years ago in Salmon River. After he was confirmed and ordained, he prophesied that now I had to baptize forty-four in one day, but by-and-by, although I was getting old, I would have to baptize from morning until evening, and it would continue for years; said there were nine tribes on their way now to be baptized. O Joseph, how I do rejoice in it! They are coming in by hundreds to investigate, are satisfied and are baptized.
