While Pauline was walking on a mountain trail with a small child named Pedro, a monster boulder crashed down from the cliffs. Pauline was unable to move, but a dark object darted past her and saved Pedro from being struck by the rock. It was discovered to be Dan Orser, who caught the child in his arms, saving him from the boulder.
In Their Own Words
“Pauline was startled from her reverie by a strange crashing sound above them on the trail. She looked up. Pedro, who was some distance ahead of her, called out in glee: "Look, Muvver, Polly! Look quick!" Pauline looked and was frozen with horror by what she saw. A monster boulder was crashing down from the cliffs above directly toward the child. She tried to scream and run to save him, but she could not move a muscle. She closed her eyes on what she knew was going to happen just as a quick dark object darted past her from a clump of trees on the other side of the path. A second later she heard the big rock bound past her and with sickening fear she opened her eyes—not on the horror she had expected, but to behold Dan Orser, white and trembling, holding little Pedro, uninjured and still laughing in his arms. — The Young Woman's Journal 30:7”
