Dan Jones, who had been suffering from a debilitated state of his lungs, was enabled by the prayers of the Saints to speak for seven and a half hours without cessation during his farewell meetings at the conference in Wales, reporting that the Lord renewed his strength to finish his work.

Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 11, No. 3, p. 43):

My lungs had been so much affected by the late conference, that I could not speak above a whisper for some days, and I expected to be unable to attend the meetings; but, through the prayers of the Saints, I was enabled to speak for seven hours and a half without cessation, and my strength was renewed to finish my work.

In Their Own Words

“And, strange, even to myself and all, that stmt the debilitated state of my lungs for a length of time, yet, by the exe of the Saints who were constantly praying for my voice to hold out, the Lord renewed my strength adequate to the work to be done, and bestowed on his humble servant more of his spirit than ever hitherto, and enabled him to deal out a portion of counsel to all in due season. — Millennial Star 11:3”
