At age nine, while living in Hawaii, Benjamin Cluff and a companion went to the hills to find their cows. They became lost as night approached. The boys knelt and prayed for divine guidance. Immediately after rising, Benjamin heard an audible whisper that directed him, leading the boys to the cows and the path home.
In Their Own Words
“With a companion he went to the hills in the evening to bring home the cows. But the animals could not be found, and night coming on the lads were lost. In their extremity the boys knelt on the ground and fervently besought divine guidance. No sooner had he risen to his feet than a voice, in an audible whisper, directed him how to proceed and in a very few moments the boys had not only the cows but the path for home. — The Young Woman's Journal 3:12”
