As a skilled fisherman, Woodruff recorded several instances where he and others were able to catch large quantities of fish from small or unlikely streams to provide food for the hungry camp. He viewed these successful catches not merely as luck or skill, but as a form of divine provision (multiplication of resources) to sustain the men during their arduous journey when other food supplies were low.
