Ann Quayle Cannon — Recognition of John Taylor

In 1840, when John Taylor (Ann's brother-in-law) arrived in Liverpool to preach the restored gospel, Ann Quayle Cannon experienced a moment of divine intuition. Upon seeing Taylor approaching their home, she turned to her son, George Q. Cannon, and declared, "There goes a man of God, he is come to bring salvation to your father's house." This spiritual recognition occurred before Taylor had even spoken to the family about his mission. Her husband, George, was initially skeptical, but Ann's conviction remained firm, leading to the family's baptism in February 1840.
