Following the war, Elder Ezra Taft Benson was called to Europe to distribute relief supplies and reorganize the Church. He frequently recounted how he was led by the Holy Ghost to find groups of Saints who had been scattered or lost. In one instance, despite having no addresses or contact information, he felt prompted to turn down specific streets or visit certain locations, where he would find faithful members waiting for help, often in desperate conditions. He testified that the Spirit directed his path to ensure the welfare of the Saints.
