Priesthood Blessing on the Kwajalein Atoll

During the Battle of Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands, a non-Latter-day Saint newspaper correspondent witnessed a wounded LDS Marine find his companion face down in the water, bleeding profusely. Despite being told by others that the man was beyond help, the Marine lifted his friend's head and administered a priesthood blessing, commanding him in the name of Jesus Christ and by the power of the priesthood to remain alive until medical help could be reached. The companion survived, a result the correspondent later described as medically inexplicable, stating, "The doctors don't know... but I know."
