David H. Caldwell — Miraculous Restoration of Sight
Contributed by
Bibliography Research
In his later years, David H. Caldwell suffered from a severe and progressive affliction of the eyes that left him nearly blind and unable to perform his daily labors or read the scriptures. After medical efforts failed to provide relief, he sought a Priesthood blessing for the restoration of his vision. According to his biographical sketch in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers collection, following the administration of the elders, his sight was miraculously restored. This healing was so complete that he was able to resume his work and church service without the aid of glasses for many years, an event he frequently cited as a witness of the healing power of the Priesthood.
