Andrew Cahoon — Spiritual Prompting Avoiding Ambush

Andrew Cahoon, son of Reynolds Cahoon, was involved in the early colonization and missionary efforts in the Utah Territory. According to family records, while traveling through territory during a period of high tension with local tribes, Andrew felt a strong spiritual impression to deviate from his planned route and take a much more difficult path. He later learned that a group of hostiles had been waiting in ambush on the original trail. He credited this 'still small voice' of the Holy Ghost with saving his life and the lives of those traveling with him.
