Reynolds Cahoon — Revelation of the Name of the Brother of Jared

In Kirtland, Ohio, Reynolds Cahoon brought his newborn son to the Prophet Joseph Smith to receive a name and a priesthood blessing. During the blessing, Joseph Smith paused and remarked that the name of the Brother of Jared (a prominent figure in the Book of Mormon) had just been revealed to him by the Spirit. He then proceeded to name the child Mahonri Moriancumer Cahoon. This event is historically significant as it provided the previously unrecorded name of the ancient prophet, a detail not found in the text of the Book of Mormon itself.
