Louisa Bonelli Hamblin — Healing of Chronic Eye Disease

Louisa Bonelli Hamblin suffered for fourteen years from a severe and painful eye affliction, described in historical records as granulated eyelids. The condition was so debilitating that she was frequently rendered totally blind and forced to remain in a darkened room for weeks at a time to manage the agony. Despite the physical hardship and the demands of raising a large family in pioneer conditions, she remained faithful. She eventually received a priesthood blessing in which she was promised that her sight would be restored. Following this administration, her eyes were miraculously healed, restoring her vision completely and allowing her to fulfill her duties as a mother and community member for the rest of her life.
