Elizabeth Wootton Robinson — Healing of the Sick through Faith

As a pioneer midwife and Relief Society worker in Kanab, Elizabeth was frequently called upon to minister to the sick when professional medical help was unavailable. In one instance documented in her DUP history, she attended a child who was considered beyond medical recovery. Elizabeth, who was noted by her peers for possessing a 'gift of healing,' spent the night in focused prayer and administered to the child with faith. By the following morning, the child’s condition had reversed and the fever had broken in a manner described as miraculous by the family. Elizabeth consistently attributed such recoveries to the power of faith and divine mercy rather than her own midwifery skills.
