Betsy Lucinda Baker Topham — Healing of Near-Blindness

In her later years, Betsy Lucinda Baker Topham suffered from a significant affliction of the eyes that threatened to leave her blind. As a woman dedicated to needlework and scripture study, she sought a priesthood blessing for the restoration of her sight. She was promised that her vision would be preserved so that she could continue her labors and read the word of God. Following the blessing, her eyesight improved to the point that she was able to perform fine needlework and read her scriptures without heavy assistance until her death at the age of 77. Family members considered the preservation of her sight a direct answer to prayer and a fulfillment of the administration she received.
