A Halo of Glory Surrounding Wilford Woodruff
While some Saints at the Salt Lake Temple dedication in April 1893 witnessed the apparent transfiguration of President Wilford Woodruff, others observed a halo of glory surrounding him as he stood to conduct the dedicatory services and offer the dedicatory prayer. The visible light encircling the 86-year-old prophet, who prayed with the strength of a man half his age, was recorded as one of the personal manifestations accompanying the dedication. To those who saw it, the halo was a sign of heavenly endorsement of Woodruff's prophetic office and of the Lord's acceptance of the temple he had been preserved to dedicate.
