Sarah Dunkley Benson was a faithful Latter-day Saint wife and mother of the Benson family. Like many of the pioneer wives of the Benson line, she left behind the world she had known to gather with the Saints and there to rear a household in the gospel, carrying the covenant into the next generation through her faithful motherhood. Her life is a faith-promoting witness of the women of the Benson line whose quiet, consecrated fidelity sustained the family's legacy of faith, and whose names, though less known, are written among the faithful in the records of the Lord.
