Kristina Beck: A Danish Girl Who Gathered to Zion in 1866

Kristina Beck was a girl of Jutland, Denmark, who in 1866 left her native land with her family to unite with the body of the Latter-day Saints in Zion. Her emigrant journey, made as a child, was remembered by her great-grandson, a sculptor, who depicted her in a work honoring the faithful Danish Saints who gave up their homeland to gather to the Lord's people. Sister Beck's life is a faith-promoting witness of the children of the Scandinavian conversion—the 'first fruits' of the gospel in the North—who, with their families, gathered to Zion in the great latter-day gathering.
