Shortly after Anson Call joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he was administered to by the priesthood for his stammering of speech. He was miraculously relieved of this affliction through the power of the priesthood. This healing gave him confidence to preach the gospel to his old companions and schoolmates in the region where he lived. After this healing, he was ordained an elder and began his ministry to those he had known before his conversion.
