Gilbert Belnap heard a conversation about the location of Kirtland and the beauty and construction of the Mormon Temple. Prompted by curiosity and what he described as a 'roving disposition,' he felt a strong inclination to travel and see this temple for himself. Following this impression, he set out three days later and traveled to Kirtland, where he was profoundly moved by the beauty and divine architecture of the Kirtland Temple, which was built according to a revelation from God. This journey became pivotal in his spiritual awakening.
